Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated, results driven individual to fill theCommercial Construction Estimator/Project Manager position.Responsibilities include but not limited to 1) generating sales by reviewing bid invitations forarchitectural metalwork (railings, stairways, balconies and misc. metals)scope and schedule, 2) discovering new business opportunities by proactively promoting the company brand in the commercial sector and pursuing marketing leads, 3) leveraging existing and establishing new relationships with GC(s), commercial management firms, owners, architects and designers, 4) developing project schedules, 5) directing and coordinating project personnel ensuring project schedule progresses on schedule, within budget, and 6) following job costs.
Summary
Proven ability to consistently surpass monthly sales goals, grow customer service levels, expand existing customer relationships and cultivate new business relationships are essential to success in this position.The Commercial Construction Estimator/Project Manager is a highly motivated team player with strong follow up and relationship building skills. A strong background in the construction industry with experience in misc metals, specifically railings and stairways, is critical in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
• Solicit & maintain positive relationships with potential and current clients.
• Study plans, blueprints & specifications for project bids to determine time frame, budget, implementation and allotment of resources for each phase of project.
• Prepare and submit proposals within time-frame, follows-up until closed (awarded or lost).
• Prepare sales, pending, and project reports for management, clients, or others.
• Evaluate and prepare pricing for change orders.
• Work closely with internal team to track job progress, schedule, changes, and budget.
• Monitor job costs throughout project.
• Maintain an ongoing bid calendar, including tracking for addenda, change orders.
• Work with current or underserved accounts to develop selling strategies to optimize potential
• Provide design input and value engineer product solutions
• Communicate with Sales Enablement, CAD Technicians, Fabricators and Field Installers to ensure consistent and accurate flow of information.
• Update & maintain accurate pipeline reports, track leads, bookings, forecasting, reporting.
• Identify and develop process changes to eliminate waste/increase profitability.
• Responsible for safety, and industry / code compliance requirements
Successful Candidate Will Have:
• Demonstrated ability to close sales opportunities and utilize the sales process effectively.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints with strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to persuade and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Detailed understanding of all pertinent project information and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the internal organization.
• Experience in selling in the commercial building industry; architectural metalwork knowledge and experience a strong plus.
• Experience in commercial bid negotiation
• Excellent verbal and written presentation and customer relations skill
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plusfive (5) years related sales/estimating and project management experiencepreferred, as well asfield construction experience with railings, stairways, balconies and misc metals.
• Excellent math skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as the ability to multi task and manage changing priorities are essential.
• Proficient computer skills and strong knowledge of MS Office products and estimating software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks.
• Work under intense deadlines with frequent interruptions.
• A valid driver’s license
