Zions Bank has just opened an opportunity for an Events and Partnerships Manager, with a focus on the technology sector, in the Salt Lake City Corporate Banking Group. We are seeking a motivated and engaging individual focused on making connections. If your passion is technology start-ups or the venture ecosystem, let's talk.

Ideal candidates will have the skills and experience necessary to:
  • Create engaging and meaningful events and experiences for clients, prospects, and other industry stakeholders such as Venture Capital partners.
  • Manage and oversee the bank's sponsorship contributions to benefit the community and technology sector, with specific focus on entrepreneurial innovation.
  • Analyze requests for support, recommend decisions and manage program budgets, providing applicants with technical assistance on contribution requests as needed.
  • Connect startups to resources within Zions Bank and the larger entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Gather data to be used in the selling process and assist prospective clients in completing loan and services applications.
  • Understand the broader technology ecosystem and know how to identify appropriate candidates that fit the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Work with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to our growth goals.
  • May be asked to perform other duties.
Who should apply?

We want someone who has:

  • Requires a Bachelors in marketing, communications, business or related field and 2+ years experience in community relations and development, business development or other directly related experience.
  • At least three years or significant experience working in the venture capital and/or technology ecosystem.
  • Excellent customer relations, negotiation, and communications skills; preference for candidates with experience working in the venture capital and technology sectors.
  • Ability to manage sponsorship relationships to ensure a maximization of benefit to both the bank and the community organizations.
  • Expert relationship management skills with companies and other stakeholders within the technology sector.
  • Ability to organize events with limited oversight.
  • Understanding of changing risk profiles of clients and ability to communicate this information and assessment to key stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Understanding of banking products and services and how they benefit companies.
  • Working knowledge of community and economic activities, sales techniques, banking products and services.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with various communities and businesses.
  • Must be able to use various word processing and spreadsheet software.
