The Acute Care Technology division of ZOLL Medical Corporation develops and delivers innovative lifesaving products and software solutions to EMS, hospital, public safety, and military customers globally. The Field Service Technician is responsible for the service and maintenance of all ZOLL Medical Acute Care Technology products, in the field or in the depot and ensures that all tasks pertaining to this service are properly performed and reported.
This position is fulltime with travel of circa 70% around the Birmingham area. Working 3 days in WMAS as dedicated engineer to the WMAS, and 2 days working in Runcorn or around the country to help with field service.
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoot and repair ZOLL equipment at the board level and below.
- Carry out incoming and outgoing quality controls
- Ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, minimising total TAT (turnaround times)
- Accurate documentation of defect findings, preparation of detailed service reports
- Tracking activities in the Complaint Management System database
- Handling incoming customer calls and enquiries
- Managing and minimising customer complaints and ensuring that they are satisfactorily resolved
- Practically contribute to the day-to-day operations of the department
- Ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met in a timely manner
Essential administrative duties:
- Service entry and exit control
- Spare parts management
- Customer service / meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction targets
- Company related correspondence
- Reporting of special incidents according to MDR to the supervisor
- Ensuring that all ZOLL and partner requirements are met in a timely manner
- Supporting the development of processes for continuous quality improvement within own area of responsibility
Skills required:
- Relevant engineering degree and a minimum of 4+ years experience ideally in the medical branch
- Excellent knowledge and proven skills in electronics & mechanics.
- IT equipment, networking skills (e.g. MS Office)
- Diagnostic and measuring equipment
- Strong technical knowledge of resuscitation equipment
- Strong knowledge of local laws and regulations for medical devices, focus on MDR; EN 60601, EN 62353 etc.
- Class B driving license
