Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst - AP will have a strong financial and data reporting background. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data sets; help defining research billing strategy; managing the payment of research invoices and application of charges to client bills; creating and publishing analytical reports; summarizing analysis in presentations; and working cross-functionally to identify patterns and trends.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reviews vendor invoices against contractual agreements, designs and executes tests in Excel to identify out-of-contract spend, erroneous charges, and assembles supporting documentation for resulting claims
- Processes Accounts Payable entries to allocate charges to client bills
- Reconciles and verifies entries and compares systems reports
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports
- Manages and verifies all expense reports and ensures compliance with firm policies within Concur
- Undergoes necessary training to gain Concur Admin access
- Fulfills administrative responsibilities for the firm, including updating workflows, policies, provides user access, and ensures that processes are running smoothly
- Reviews import/export of data from Concur and communicates with the appropriate channels to escalate any issues
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with internal employees utilizing the Concur system
- Analyzes and consolidates expense data from Concur and other sources using reporting analysis and enter data by department and expense type into company ERP
- Responsible for auditing and monitoring the expense reporting according to the corporate policies in Concur
- Supports employees with Concur issues of expense and invoice modules, as well as day to day questions
- Assists with other accounting activities/special projects as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

- Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to analyze large datasets
- High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, adapt to a high-paced environment to achieve business goals and objectives
- Proactive in seeking innovative ways to create efficiencies in billing processes
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum five to seven years' experience as a data analyst or in accounting/finance field, preferably within legal industry
- Knowledge of Concur expenses management system is a must
- Ability to develop and implement long-term plans and programs, coordinate the efforts of others, and apply and adapt practices and techniques to the requirements of the firm
- Proven knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, specifically with data analysis required
- Experience in statistical data analysis and modeling as well as relevant research methods; proficiency with analytical software
- Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
