Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works as part of the team that makes, builds, and extends the best supply chain platform available
  • Partners with UX designers and Front End Architect to translate strategy and design for the company design system into working components (javascript, styling, HTML)
  • Implements design system and front-end standards within an assigned product or the platform generally, driving the product or platform to full adoption of the system and standards.
  • Proactively responds to usability issues when identified in the implementation process
  • Develops front end code that is compliant with company standards
  • Produces front-end solutions that are compliant with WCAG 2.0 AA
  • Ensures that product-specific needs are reviewed for opportunities to further expand the design system, minimizing the need for one-off elements
  • Contributes as part of the assigned product team to create user-centered and intuitive solutions
  • Contributes to communications regarding updates to the user experience design system
  • Acts as a cross functional partner to ensure adoption of the design system


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated ability to manage expectations of customers, colleagues, stakeholders, and executives through clear, confident communication, persuasive use of data, and skillful negotiation resulting in widespread awareness of UX vision, strategy, and plans.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to build well considered responsive designs and serve as an evangelist for them.
  • Skilled at building and testing cross-browser and cross-platform applications with minimal ensuing complexity.
  • Able to navigate design tools to get necessary assets independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to intuit information architecture and visual designs and turn them into front-end code that is expressive and easy to maintain.
  • Able to translate wireframes into functional requirements and write well-abstracted, reusable, high-performance code for UI components.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead front-end technical development efforts for assigned products, explore existing systems, and determine and socialize areas of complexity and potential risks to successful implementation of advanced visualization products.
  • Able to design and implement front-end components of assigned product(s) with architectural guidelines in mind (secure, high-performing, scalable, extensible, flexible, simple) in a way that is intuitive and encourages adoption within other engineering staff on assigned team(s).
  • Skilled at providing expertise on the constantly growing and changing landscape of javascript libraries, stylesheets, HTML, and open-source tools that drive user experience, influencing adoption within the broader R&D organization.
  • Proactively and productively collaborate with various cross functional teams like User Experience, Product Management and Software Engineering teams to validate prototypes and to create elegant, usable, and responsive interfaces which exceed customer expectations.
