Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The GIS Analyst will analyze data, interpret client needs, find the information that addresses those needs, and present the data in the best format possible. The individual in this position compiles, manipulates, and analyzes geospatial data, and will contribute to business development, positioning and strategic planning that differentiates Stream. This individual will strive to enhance Stream’s offerings in the areas of data visualization, business intelligence, and other insightful outputs and is responsible for producing and presenting data visualizations in a compelling way to help drive strategy and support the real estate decision-making process. 

We are looking for an incredibly talented person to produce a variety of high-quality geographic and demographic materials, leveraging ESRI products, fundamental GIS concepts, practices and procedures proficiently to accomplish analytical work.

This role will report to the Director of Business and Location Intelligence on Stream’s National Marketing team, while partnering with local market leaders and partners. This will be a remote position, but if desired can office in any of our Stream locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce interactive maps, dashboards, reports, and presentations that bring data to life.
• Integrate proprietary and subscription-based research data into engaging visualizations for the purposes of business development, external distribution, and client-based products.
• Respond to internal stakeholder and external client requests for data and information.
• Proactively search for new and different data sources that elevate insights.
• Educate internal and external clients about GIS capabilities and resources.
• Mine and extract data from a variety of sources, and data engineering.
• Customize the interface of ESRI apps and story maps using ArcGIS Online Assistant.
• Research new approaches to address geospatial data development challenges.
• Seek end-user/customer input regarding additional geographic services and enhancements to existing services and processes.
• Develop, share, and store best practices.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• BS/BA in geography, GIS, urban planning, economics, or relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge of the Esri platform: ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Applications as well as other data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
• 3 - 5 years of experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational and analytical skills.
• Customer service-centric.
• Acute problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commercial real estate experience preferred.
• Experience managing workload, ability to multi-task, succeed under pressure and effectively manage time.
• Familiarity with Model Builder, Python Scripting and Machine Learning, open-source platforms like CARTO, and Mapbox, a plus
