Job Description
Job Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for partnering with and supporting the HR Business Partner team at F&G. This position will support the adherence and consistency of HR programs and processes across the organization and will be directly responsible for employee relations, data analytics and talent management support as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build positive business partnerships with leaders to drive F&G’s goals through alignment with HR’s initiatives.
- Maintain knowledge of HR policies and procedures and execute on HR related programs such as performance management, recruitment, employee relations issues, and matters relating to employment law
- Partner with HR teams (talent development, talent acquisition, total rewards, DE&I etc)) to coordinate processes and procedures that are rolled out across the organization.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues including the following:
- Provide support to managers in identifying, implementing, and resolving employee relations issues
- Work with managers and employees to bring about improved performance and/or behavior changes.
- Meet with employees on HR issues as appropriate.
- Offer appropriate recommendations and inform HR Business Partners and Managers regarding performance issues and employment situations, as appropriate.
- Conduct exit surveys and interviews with departing employees and counsel departing employees regarding the continuation of their company benefits.
- Share findings with Management and HR Business Partner.
- Review, identify and report on data and common themes from exit survey data.
- Work with the talent development team to create people leaders’ communication and pass-downs from senior leadership teams.
- Provide data reporting and analytics to HR Business Partners and Management upon request. Â Â
- Assist HR Business Partners and Management with creating and/or updating job descriptions in alignment with job families and career paths.
- Provide support during performance management, succession planning, calibration, and 360 programming. This includes performing reporting and follow up with leaders on timelines, outstanding forms due, etc.
- Make recommendations for new approaches, HR policies and procedures, etc to effect continuous process improvements.
- Assure compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, labor, pay, benefits, and EEO laws.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field. Experience in lieu of degree considered.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of generalist human resource experience
- Experience in Insurance or Financial Services industry preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions and develop solutions to problems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands and adapt with appropriate flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to counsel employees and managers in difficult circumstances
- Must operate autonomously and possess excellent judgment while making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as excellent project management skill
- Proven customer service orientation is a must
- Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, and PowerPoint) are required. ADP or other HRIS systems a plus.
