Job Description
The Infrastructure Services Engineer is an individual contributor skilled in automating operational tasks that manage and configure the infrastructure. This role works collaboratively with peers and team members in both IT Operations and IT Infrastructure to encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization. This role ensures tasks are scalable, simple and documented to improve overall support and achieve necessary integrations. The Infrastructure Services Engineer is an expedient thinker, who is quickly able to discover solutions to complex issues. The Infrastructure Services Engineer reports to the Lead of Infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluates on-prem workloads and determine faster, easier, automated way forward
- Develops new and updates existing scripts for automated tasks
- Provide mentoring and cross-training to other IT staff in areas of expertise
- Ensure comprehensive monitoring for cloud and on-prem infrastructure and applications
- Continuously and automatically deploy configuration changes and software updates
- Respond to inquiries in effective oral and written communications
- Manage the creation and administration of licensing groups in M365; Maintains compliance on all licensing for services
- Troubleshoot issues, involve the appropriate resources, and drive resolution with a focus on minimizing impact on end-users
- Administers MS CRM instances
- Administers MS Exchange
- Administers Proofpoint policies and resolve issues
- Supports the Netwrix application servers and databases; establish self-service reports
- Ability to take work at the engineering level and partner with operations to define service levels, supported materials, processes along with clear escalation guidelines
- Provides excellent customer service and interacts on a consistent basis with other GCS teams to ensure support issues are addressed
- Ensures all work is tracked using a Ticket based System, provide metrics and input on how to reduce, automate and/or optimize services
- Monitors for the daily health of all systems and infrastructure
- Maintains current technical expertise and utilizes modern IT practices such as ITIL, ITSM, Agile, etc.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- The ideal candidate must have minimum 5 years of experience managing MS Active Directory, Group Policy, WMI and PowerShell scripting
- The ideal candidate must have minimum 5 years of experience managing virtual servers (VMware preferred) and MS Server OS
- The ideal candidate must have minimum 5 years of experience in MS365, Global Administrator, Azure Active Directory, and Azure cloud services
- The ideal candidate must have minimum 3 years of infrastructure designs, implementation and support of critical systems experience.
- Must have working knowledge of PowerShell, Active Directory, ADFS, Azure Active Directory, Azure SSO, Exchange and Conditional Access
- Previous experience with mobile device management
- Must have exemplary troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Must be able to clearly and correctly express technical concepts (verbal & written) and simplify them to management, members of the team, peers, and customers.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Experience leading projects, with Agile for IT operations
- Knowledge of HITRUST common security framework
- Experience with auditing software, Netwrix
- Experience with email protection software, Proofpoint
