Lead – Vinyl & Graphics Department

Job Title: Lead – Vinyl & Graphics Department Company: Hartlauer Signs Location: 3900 W Dewey Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89118 Employment Type: Full-Time Hartlauer Signs, a well-established and respected full-service sign company, is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to lead our Vinyl & Graphics Department. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong background in digital printing, vinyl graphics production, and sign-making processes. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge along with the ability to oversee production, manage schedules, and maintain workflow efficiency within a busy shop environment. Responsibilities: • Department Leadership & Workflow Oversight • Lead daily operations of the vinyl and graphics department to ensure high-quality output and timely completion of jobs • Coordinate closely with project managers, production manager and other departments to align on schedules and priorities • Track job progress on project management software, identify and resolve production issues, and keep jobs on schedule • Design File Preparation & Prepress • Set up and prepare files for production, ensuring accuracy and print-readiness • Work primarily in CorelDRAW and utilize RIP software to manage output to various devices • Make necessary adjustments to customer-provided artwork and internal design files to meet production requirements • Vinyl Graphics Application • Apply cut vinyl and digital prints to a wide variety of substrates including acrylic, aluminum, PVC, glass, and more • Oversee and participate in weeding, masking, and mounting processes with attention to detail and craftsmanship • Equipment Operation & Maintenance • Operate wide-format digital printers (roll-to-roll and flatbed), vinyl plotters, laminators, and related production equipment • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of print and cut devices to minimize downtime • Monitor color accuracy and print quality, adjusting settings as needed • Inventory & Shop Management • Monitor material inventory and place orders to ensure necessary supplies are always on hand • Review upcoming projects to identify possible long lead time items • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards • Train and mentor junior staff or new hires in department best practices and safety protocols Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in sign production, including vinyl and digital printing • Advanced proficiency with CorelDRAW, RIP software (such as Onyx or Flexi), and related design/production tools • Strong technical knowledge of print equipment and materials, including color management and print troubleshooting • Proven ability to lead a team, manage multiple jobs, and meet tight deadlines • Excellent attention to detail and quality, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand/work on your feet for extended periods as needed Job Type: Full-time Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Experience: • sign production: 5 years (Required) Shift availability: • Day Shift (Required) Ability to Commute: • Las Vegas, NV 89118 (Required) Work Location: In person
