Machine Operator - Indigo Digital Printer

Current Media Group is seeking a Machine Operator for the Indigo Digital Printer reporting to the Director of Manufacturing.  This position is a full-time, hourly position with starting wage of $18/hour.  Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, Life, AD&D, EAP, HSA, FSA, PTO, STD, and LTD.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position. The schedule for this position is a 12-hour shift on a rotating schedule between days/nights every month.  The position is onsite. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Indigo Machine Operators operate HP Indigo digital printers to produce labels, stationary and other printed materials. Operators must inspect and maintain machines including maintenance activities prescribed by HP, perform any and all necessary machine calibrations to ensure color consistency, and perform basic housekeeping on the machines. Operators must be able to maintain high production standards and quality. Operators are required to work and communicate well with others. Operators must possess basic math skills.

COMMUNICATION:  Operators must be able to speak clearly to overcome surrounding industrial noise levels. Operators must have good interpersonal skills.  

LIFTING: Operators must use proper lifting techniques and be able to lift weights of up to 45 pounds (approximately 70% of the shift). 

PUSH/PULL: Operators must be able to push boxes of various sizes and weights (approximately 50% of the shift). 

REACHING: Operators must be able to reach to heights of 72 inches (approximately 50% of the shift).

STAND: Operators must be able to stand for the entirety of the assigned shift, with the possibility of overtime hours.

SIT: The job function neither requires nor allows for sitting, other than breaks in regular intervals.

ROTATION: Operators will be expected to perform other functions within the department.

BENDING: Operators must use proper lifting techniques when picking up and/or moving materials (approximately 50% of the shift).

PIVOTING: Operators must be able to pivot on feet while pulling product from bins and pushing/pulling boxes on conveyor belt (approximately 80% of work shift) for the entire shift.

GRIPPING/GRASPING: Operators must be able to grip and grasp products, while bending over and grasping from the end of the machine (approximately 50% of the shift).

KEYING:  Operators must key accurate and timely information into various computer programs/reports.

WALK: Operators must be able to walk to their designated area while carrying out their job function for their entire shift.

ROTATION (FLEXIBILITY): Operators will be expected to perform other functions within the department.

VOLUME:  Operators must be able to work at a steady pace while prioritizing tasks and issues at hand. Due to business needs overtime may be possible.

EXERCISE: Operators must be able to participate in and perform the daily exercise program.

COMPREHENSION: Operators must be able to read and write English legibly for the entirety of the shift.
