Job Summary:

Performs a variety of complex installations, maintenance and repair of on-line electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and systems in one or more specialty areas; electrical/electronics, welding/fabrication, material handling systems, plumbing, carpentry, etc. May lead less experienced mechanics on projects or in the absence of supervisory personnel. Performs other maintenance functions/duties as required.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Perform hot-work and/or minor metal fabrication; must be proficient in operating cutting torches and various types of welding equipment.
  • Perform minor vertical construction and fabrication with wood, must be proficient in a variety of carpentry skills.
  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance action on building conveyor, systems, and material handling equipment, proficient in use of ICW and CMMS systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience/certification in one or more trades: Electrical, Forklift, Welding/Fabricating, HVAC, Millwright etc.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal; basic math skills a must.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift, or otherwise move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to use computer programs Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and computerized Maintenance Management Software ( CMMS )
  • Ability to work at heights or unusual work positions; must be able to operate all shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings (i.e., architectural drawings, mechanical schematics, electrical diagrams, plumbing blueprints, etc.).
  • Experience in industrial or commercial maintenance field with demonstrated preventative and corrective maintenance experience in material handling systems.
  • Proven proficiency in three or more of the following areas; electrical/electronics, welding/fabrication, plumbing, electro hydraulics, mechanical and electrical drive systems, PLC controlled systems.
  • Familiarity with OSHA/NFPA/NEC standards to include the use and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must maintain safe work practices and housekeeping standards.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Seven (7) plus years working in an industrial or similar maintenance environment.
  • This position does require at a minimum the following tools:
    • Complete set of hand tools Sockets, wrenches, Allen keys, channel lock pliers, adjustable wrench, screw drivers. All tools sets are to be both standard and Metric.
    • Set of Allen keys both standard and metric.
    • Set of Electrical tools: Linesmen, diagonal cutters, strippers, Electrical voltage pen.
    • Electrical Multimeter and or combination amp meter.
    • Digital or analog calipers.

Additional Factors:

Frequent exposure to lubricants, chemical vapors, aerosols, and other physical demands requiring certain levels of tolerance for working in adverse conditions i.e., noise, dust, heat, weather conditions is necessary. Shift Opportunity: D-Shift Friday - Sunday, 6:00pm-6;30am

Starting Pay based on experience: $32.00/hr with shift differentials on qualifying shifts.
