About the Role & Team
On the Reporting platform team, a key component of the Data Fulfillment team, at theScore & ESPN BET, our mission is to develop high-quality and sustainable automated solutions to meet the financial and regulatory reporting requirements for our iGaming business. As a Manager, you’ll lead a team of Analytics Engineers / Data Analysts responsible for the creation, validation and delivery of reports which meet the specific requirements in each betting jurisdiction. You’ll provide feedback on team member’s work and support their career goals by developing their skills. You’ll be relied upon to identify and prioritize projects that drive the reporting strategy at theScore and includes working hand in hand with the Regulatory Compliance, Finance, and Engineering teams to improve and optimize our report generation and fulfillment. The ideal candidate has strong leadership seeking to scale up the skills, a passion for data, a background in automated reporting, and an interest in professional sports, betting & eSports.
About the Work
- As a key member of our Data Fulfillment team you will:
- Work with the leadership team to define strategy & direction of financial and regulatory reporting at theScore & ESPN BET
- Lead hiring, onboarding and continued professional development on the Reporting Platform team
- Manage & grow a team of Analytics Engineers / Data Analysts on the Reporting Platform team
- Work with compliance, finance, external stakeholders and engineering teams to create new reports or make updates to existing
- reports as required.
- Continuous optimization of automated regulatory, financial, and external partner reporting processes.
- Create and manage validations testing suites on all reporting processes.
- Work with Data Engineers to design and manage automated processes using principles that are efficient, well structured,
- maintainable and easy to understand.
- Provide timely responses and solutions on issues that arise in day-to-day automated reporting processes.
- Continuously improve reporting implementation and adapt to changing technologies.
- Other duties as required.
About You
- University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field
- 4+ years experience leading a team of data analysts or other data-driven individuals
- Exceptional knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Focus on continuous improvement and optimization of technology or processes.
- Ability to distill ambiguous business needs into technical requirements and direction for the team
- Ability to discuss complex topics in a clear manner to cross-functional groups
- Ability to understand and report on complex data and handle all edge cases
- Must have an analytical mind set and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to focus in a fast paced environment and multitask.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Airflow, DBT or Cron jobs.
- Familiarity with analysis tools (R or Python)
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
