Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The Manager NAM Sustainability will be a key leader within the NAM Sustainability Team, this position is responsible to support the development and implementation of the North American sustainability strategy and ensuring the effective execution of the global strategy. This role will engage cross-functionally and with internal and external partners to support the Senior Manager, NAM Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Support the Senior Manager of NAM sustainability responsible for developing the NAM sustainability aligned with the Global Brand Strategy.
  • Act as center of excellence to NAM sustainability across creation, GTM, marketing, local stakeholder engagement.
  • Execute, monitor, and communicate the implementation and execution of NAM sustainability between stakeholders across all levels.
  • Support analysis of the ongoing metrics of project progression, monitoring inputs & outputs, and manage issues/risks to deliver against KPIs.
  • Test and learn to ensure constant evolution of Sustainability.

Process Development

  • Support, organize, and execute objectives in alignment with seasonal brand and commercial strategy.
  • Execute the Go-To-Market (GTM) processes for NAM Sustainability in collaboration with the S. Manager, NAM Sustainability.
  • Ensure the execution of compelling program rollouts with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation such as: Decarbonization, 9/10, Messaging, Futureproofing, Risk Management, and Center of Excellence in collaboration with the S. Manager, NAM Sustainability.

Project Management

  • Support execution of seasonal plans in line with global strategy.
  • Manage multiple workstreams across Sustainability.
  • Support, Manage, and coordinate all aspects of operating sustainability at adidas NAM.
  • Engage with and create relationships with external agencies and partners to achieve sustainability targets and goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in executing new business models within an existing organization.
  • Background in Sustainability with additional experience in merchandising, product management, project management preferred.
  • Passionate about Sustainability with a good understanding of sustainable business principles.
  • Experience in product creation and merchandising and understanding of business KPIs.
  • Innovation mindset and self-starting mentality.
  • Proven track record of problem solving in a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate across all levels.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Sustainability, Project Management, Business Development or similar.
  • Strong sustainability expertise-either a Bachelors in Sustainability / Sustainability Business management or strong professional experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Cross functional experience, ideally within product creation and the GTM process.
  • Curious mindset and ability to work across multiple teams.

  • We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Portland, OR.
