Maternal Child Health - Registered Nurse (RN)

Reportingto the Nurse Manager, the staff RN performs professional role functions inaccordance with scope of practice and professional standards, includingdemonstrating the knowledge and ability to use and/or lead the scope ofpractice, professional standards and accreditation / regulatory standards,scope of practice for LVN and all

othernursing personnel e.g. unlicensed assistive personnel. The RN demonstrates theability to assess their own professional role performance, current knowledge oftheory and principles related to discipline specific practice, and the abilityto use a population based approach to determine patient needs.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

1. Graduateof an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program required.

2. Two years of experience and ability to carry out role tocare for the following patient populations/acuities:

• NICU: Grower/Feeder Infants (Ratio of 1:2-3) & Standard NICU assignment(Ratio of 1:2)
• Labor and Delivery: Transition RN (mother and babyimmediate recovery), Antepartum, Observation, Postpartum Couplets in L&D& Laboring patient.
• Couplet Care: Couplet Assignment (1:3-4), GYN/MedicalSurgical Patient (female), PP mother on Magnesium, PP mother with JADA &Infant on phototherapy.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

1. Current CA State licensure asa Registered Nurse required.

2. Current BLS (American Heart)certificate required.

3. Current NRP required.

4. Current ACLS (AmericanHeart) required.

5. Advanced Fetal Monitoringrequired upon hire; maintained Q2 years.

6. S.T.A.B.L.E course completionwithin 6 mo. of hire
