Registered Nurse (RN) -ICU

Reporting to the NurseManager, the staff RN performs professional role functions in accordance withscope of practice and professional standards, including demonstrating theknowledge and ability to use and/or lead the scope of practice, professionalstandards and accreditation / regulatory standards, scope of practice for LVNand all other nursing personnel e.g. unlicensed assistive personnel. The RNdemonstrates the ability to assess their own professional role performance,current knowledge of theory and principles related to discipline specificpractice, and the ability to use a population-based approach to determinepatient needs .

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

1. Graduate of an accredited RegisteredNurse (RN) program required.

2. Experience and/or training inleadership preferred, if acting as a charge nurse

3. BSN preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

1. Current license as aRegistered Nurse in the State of California.

2. Current BLS (American HeartAssociation) certification required.

3. Current ACLS (American HeartAssociation) required within 3 months ofhire (ACLS required within 6 months for new grad RNs).

4. Current NIHSS certificaterequired within 6 months of hire.

5. Successfulpassing of RCH basic arrhythmia course within 6 months of hire for a new gradRN and new to specialty.
