Job Description
We are seeking a skilledNetwork Engineerto design, maintain, and support a complex, multi-campus network infrastructure. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of voice, data, video, and wireless services. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage both internal systems and vendor relationships in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time opportunity with fantastic benefits. This is 100% onsite in Delaware County, PA.
Responsibilities
• Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot complex network and security infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and NAC systems.
• Support core network protocols and services such as DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, NTP, and 802.1x, ensuring optimal configuration and security.
• Administer network components including Extreme, Juniper, and Cisco hardware, F5 Load Balancers, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Architect and implement Layer 2/3 network solutions with technologies such as VLANs, VRRP, EVPN-VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, Static Routing, Spanning Tree, PIM, and Multicast.
• Manage the organization’s fiber optic backbone and optical technologies (CWDM/DWDM) to ensure reliable inter-campus and internet connectivity.
• Collaborate with external service providers (e.g., MPLS, fiber, internet, cloud hosting) to maintain secure and efficient external connectivity.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational runbooks.
• Serve as a Level III escalation point for advanced network and security incidents.
• Establish and enforce network policies, procedures, and security standards.
• Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for networking systems.
• Prioritize and manage assigned work using project and ticketing systems; escalate issues and recommend mitigation strategies as needed.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and support off-hours maintenance activities as required.
Requirements
• Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise network infrastructures, ideally in a higher education or multi-site environment.
• Hands-on expertise with networking hardware from Extreme, Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5.
• Deep understanding of routing and switching protocols and technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and EVPN-VXLAN.
• Experience configuring and managing core services such as DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, and 802.1x.
• Familiarity with optical networking technologies including CWDM and DWDM.
• Demonstrated ability to document technical systems, troubleshoot issues, and manage tasks independently under minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support and occasional off-hours work (upgrades, migrations).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
