New Business Accounting Manager

Job Summary

The New Business Accounting Manager role is responsible for reconciliation of unmatched accounting items in suspense generated from transactions processed within the Individual Life & Financial Services (ILFS) operational functions. The role will work closely with the ILFS operational areas and Corporate Finance to ensure accuracy and completeness of ILFS operational area's revenue reporting.

The role will also be responsible for creating and maintaining dashboards that provide trends and insights into issues related to processing, identifying root cause of unmatched financial transactions that impact suspense and general ledger, proposing solutions for correction and updating applicable corresponding documentation utilized by the business, and recommend opportunities to improve processes that negatively impacts financial health.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for reviewing and clearing unmatched suspense items within accounting systems; This includes clearing suspense, monitoring suspense and general ledger accounts, and ensuring all discrepancies are corrected and clearly documented
• Interpret and provide insight and recommendations on financial transactions processed in operational areas
• Create, maintain and manage reporting dashboards related to trends and account clearing, implementing internal controls and to ensure quality
• Manage standard operating procedures to reduce negative impacts to financial accounts

Job Requirements

Required Education and/or Certifications

• High School diploma/GED

Recommended Education and/or Certifications

• College degree (A.A./BA/BS)
• Recommended College Major: Business, Accounting, Finance, Education
• Yellow Belt / Yellow Belt 2
• Insurance experience

Required Work Experience

• 5 years of experience working within operations, new business, training, or process improvement areas; insurance industry specific experience strongly preferred
• Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Salary Band: 06B

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
