Operating Room Nurse (FT)

Job Summary and Qualifications: • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills • Self-motivated and functions as a team member • Dependable, flexible, and open to learning and growing with our center • Passion for an environment focused on high-quality patient care. • Sets an example for peers in a professional manner • Adheres to the center’s policies and procedures and the Professional Standards of Nursing Practice • Responsible for direct patient care in the operating room • Knowledge of sterile technique • Maintaining a count of sponges, needles, and other instruments used in the operating room. • Prepares the operating room by ensuring supplies, equipment, and instruments are available and in working order, all supplies and equipment necessary are sterile before the procedure, and positioning patients. • Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of the patient before, during, and after the procedure and communicating with anesthesia and surgeon with observed changes • Ensuring medications are administered and charted • Caring for specimens • Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical procedure Job Requirements: • 2 years or more of operating room experience • Current Illinois license • BLS certification required • ACLS and PALS certification is a plus Job Type: Full-time Pay: $39.54 - $52.58 per hour Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Employee assistance program • Employee discount • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Referral program • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
