As a Partner Technical Specialist your purpose is to influence your partnersâ technical strategies working to incorporate and embed IBMâs technology portfolio into Partnerâs reference architectures practices and solutions versus competition.
As a deeply technical seller youâll increase your partnersâ technical capabilities by enabling their sales and technical sellers to experientially demonstrate IBM Technology at scale with your clients.

IBM Z Hardware Brand Technical Specialists are the technical experts and advisors to clients IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. You understand the clientâs business requirements technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. You apply your business insights build and maintain client relationships incorporate hardware software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum of three year previous work experience in a Technical Sales/Solution Consultant/Sales Engineer role or experience working with technology in a business environment
- Required Education: Bachelorâs or Masterâs Degree in Computer Science Data Science Computer Engineering Analytics Electrical Engineering Information Systems or similar disciplines
- Excellence in Communication and Collaboration: Provable excellence in people communication and collaboration skills with a track record of networking and influencing at all levels achieved both independently and through teamwork.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Passionate about modern platform technologies such as Openshift Microservices Containers Kubernetes.
- Proven experience in implementing or selling integration solutions with expertise in Kafka API Management and API Security.
- Proven experience in microservices development with a strong understanding of microservices architecture patterns and principles is highly desirable. This is an optional requirement.
Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise
- Comprehensive Familiarity with IBMâs Offerings: Hands-on experience with any of IBMâs products and services (training across IBMâs product suite will be provided).
- Deep Technical Expertise in Automation Brandâs Product Portfolio: Demonstrable client-facing deep technical subject matter expertise within your chosen brandâs product portfolio (e.g. Openshift Container Platform Data & AI Automation Integration Security Power Storage) with the ability to engage in complex architectural conversations.
