The Lee's Summit team is looking to fill the role of Payroll/ HR Specialistin their Lee's Summit, MO facility to contribute their knowledge and experience to help support Payroll and Human Resources processes and procedures for dual sites. This position will take full ownership of all Payroll matters by administering and processing payroll for multiple sites. In addition, this position will support HR processes and duties as needed.
Reporting to the HR Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic Payroll/ HR professional with drive, determination, and the desire to work in a highly commercial and growth-focused environment.
Position Title: Payroll/ HR Specialist
Location: Lee's Summit, Missouri
The successful candidate will:
- Compile, process and coordinate full-cycle payrolls to include weekly and bi-weekly for a multi-state group.
- Create and/or retrieve reports from payroll system as required.
- Responds to various information requests from governmental agencies, such as unemployment, in a timely manner.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices for accuracy and address any discrepancies.
- Research and correct any payroll discrepancies with a sense of urgency.
- Assist with company benefit information to include enrollment, plan questions and open enrollment.
- Ensure compliance with company rules and procedures.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in payroll and human resources.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, records, and documentation.
- Ensure accuracy of internal payroll process.
- Perform other payroll and human resources duties as assigned.
Essential experience and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and education required.
- Payroll (CPP) and Human Resources Certifications (SHRM, HRCI) a plus.
- At least 4 years of Payroll and Human resources experience, preferably supporting locations in multiple states or jurisdictions.
- Strong working knowledge using a payroll system, preferably ADP or Paycor.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point) required.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles and interpreting and applying state and federal statues and applicable rules and regulations related to payroll and human resources.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with various departments and be a team player.
- Experience working in the manufacturing sector is an asset.
- Able to deal with multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand details and apply to big picture concepts.
