Position Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This effort includes serving as a liaison to employees and third-party vendors, auditing employee pay records and reconciling totals by division, department, location and country, ensuring appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to various accounts correctly, verifying compliance with federal and state payroll requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures

  • Creates and maintains different reports such as Headcount list, vacations entitlement, compensation summary.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Human Resources with 3-5 years of related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
  • Initiative and drive to continuously improve processes and systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with payroll software
