Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County’s coastal communities since 1978. We’re located at Santa Fe Drive and I-5, within walking distance of a park, fitness center, grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants.
Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas’ campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. We’re home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.
This is a full time (80 hours per two week pay period),benefited position with a 10-hour varied day shifts, including weekends at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Includes $4k retention incentive and $3k relocation assistance for eligible new hires.

As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. Responsibilities include:
• Primarily clinical based practice demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescriptive authorities as approved by the medical staff.
• Participating in direct patient care with patient care teams.
• Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and oversees clinical activities of clinical pharmacists in training.
• Round with the medical team and provide patient care interventions
• Precepting students and/or residents as appropriate
• Reviewing and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost. Documenting the care provided to patients.
• Supervising the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
• Routinely communicating with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
• Contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
• Demonstrating ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
• Demonstrating ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty
• Must remain in original Job Title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
•
Required Certification/Registration:
• California Pharmacist License
• AHA BLS for the health care provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes.Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other nationally recognized certification required within 2 years' of hire.
•
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
• Experience in a multi-site health system pharmacy enterprise;
• Teaching certificate and/or experience precepting students and/or residents
• PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area preferred.

Position Pay Range: $77.50-$96.90/hour
