Your Role and Responsibilities
The project consists of the characterization of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) using Raman micro-spectroscopy and the study of carbon dioxide (CO2) capture by these materials.

The work will consist of:

• Review of technical and scientific literature on the characterization of MOFs (Metal Organic Frameworks).
• Design and execution of laboratory experiments to characterize MOFs especially using micro-spectroscopy
• Reviewing technical and scientific literature on methods and technologies for capturing and storing carbon dioxide.
• Design and execution of laboratory experiments to create methods and technologies for capturing and storing carbon dioxide.
• Participating in the preparation of articles and patents on methods and technologies for capturing and storing carbon dioxide.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Familiarity with experimental techniques for characterizing materials
• Familiarity with operating optical microscopes
• Familiarity with preparing samples for characterization
• Knowledge of the Office package for weekly presentation of results
• Advanced English
• PhD candidate in Nanotechnology/Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science/Materials Engineering or related areas.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Familiarity with Raman spectroscopy.
• Familiarity with scientific instrumentation.
• Familiarity with python for data processing and analysis.
• Affinity with research and development activities such as writing articles and patents.
• Familiarity with handling chemical solutions.
