As a Platform Engineer at Commonwealth Bank, you will define and facilitate delivery of technology solutions against the group’s architecture strategy, including design and uplift of our system architectures. We strive for simple, intuitive, scalable and robust solutions, delivering the best experience for our customers and staff. Your role will prove critical in helping our business stakeholders and delivery teams understand how to execute their portfolio of work in alignment with the group strategy.

Reporting Lines:

The role position reports into the India Chapter Lead – in the core banking crew.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure to support SAP workloads on AWS.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management for SAP deployments and automation.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable SAP deployments on AWS.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly and proactively.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.
• Work closely with SAP Basis team to ensure seamless integration between SAP and the cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and procedures.
• Participate in security assessments and compliance audits related to the SAP environment on AWS.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on cloud technologies.
• Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Cloudformation, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools, particularly Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus and Artifactory.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments.
• Work experience and knowledge of RHEL or SUSE Linux administration would be an added advantage.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology or any similar stream
