Summary
This National Guard position is for a Police Officer (Title 32), Position Description Number D2499P01and is part of the 151st SFS located in Salt Lake City, with the Utah Air National Guard.
This vacancy is OPEN to the public, to those in the UTANG or willing to join.

Conditions of Employment
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. - National Guard Membership is required.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire.
- Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP).

- This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Drug Testing Plan. Incumbent(s) of this position is/are subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
- Must qualify and remain qualified in the use of required weapons, as the incumbent will be required to use firearms in performing duties.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- The incumbent must wear a DAF Police Officer uniform as identified in the DAF Police AFI and required to meet dress and appearance standards when supporting non-DoD agencies IAW the Abidal Status technicians, military uniform will be worn at the discretion of the SFS commander.
- Must work an uncommon tour of duty, to include nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, rotating shifts, and recall.
- Must wear approved protective clothing such as body armor/ballistic plates, helmets, personal protective equipment, coats, boots, traffic vests and/or chemical protective equipment, (e.g., respirator mask).
- Incumbent will be exposed to the day-to-day dangers associated with law enforcement and security duties..
Qualifications
**Must include beginning and ending dates of employment stated as MM/YYYY; and total hours worked per week in order to determine part time vs. full time credit.
Specialized Experience:
Have at least 12 months experiences of practical knowledge of security force (SF) activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; or area security operations. Work experiences in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of civilian/public areas or military installations. Experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. May have experiences in responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies.
