Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK: PAY RANGE: $18.00 To $20.00 The Pre-Fab Laborer / Core Drilling Operator (PFL/CDO) reports to the Pre-Fab Manager. The PFL/CDO builds pre-fab assemblies to the specification of the pre-fab unit and the direction of the Pre-Fab Manager. The PFL/CDO takes direction from Pre-Fab Manager on coring assignments. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PRE-FAB • Ensures quality and efficiency is maintained during the process assembling pre-fab units. • Performs the assembly of prefab units as directed by the Pre-Fab Manager. • Receives all material associated with the pre-fab orders and ensures that all material necessary for the assembly of the pre-fab units is delivered and available. • Ensures that the pre-fab work area is kept safe and orderly. • Coordinates with the Pre-Fab Manager to ensure that schedules are maintained. • Upon completion of the order, ensures that the pre-fab assemblies are securely packaged and ready for delivery. • Coordinates with the Pre-Fab Manager & Logistics Manager to schedule deliveries of pre-fab assemblies. • Maintains and organizes warehouse • May perform routine maintenance throughout the office/warehouse • Performs material restock and organization • Thread and cut conduit • Assists in furniture assembly, moving furniture and hanging wall objects throughout the office/warehouse • Assists in collecting trash throughout the facility CORE DRILLING OPERATOR • Communicate with Pre-Fab manager regarding any issues. • Directly responsible for coring equipment. • Directly responsible for core truck; will drive core truck to assigned projects. • Maintains communication with project Superintendents regarding cores, manpower, power of the core machine, and any other specific needs. • Must be competent in making “on the job” decisions. • Must be able to move/lift coring equipment. • Must be able to change out core bits accordingly. • Ensure quality and safety for every core job. • Must be able to read a tape measure. • Must be able to use basic hand tools. • Manage time efficiently when coring. • Ensures material type being cored before starting. • Ensures bit size for each core. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Have basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. • Must have a current driver’s license. • Must have own reliable transportation. • Must be flexible to come in early and stay late as customer and project demands dictate. • Must be able to work effectively with superintendent, foreman, and other field personnel • Be able to work well in a “team” environment. • Be familiar with electrical equipment, materials and specifications. • Have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally; in written form and verbally. • Have the ability to monitor own work to ensure quality. • Have the ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders (Class 1-250lbs, Class 2-300lbs). • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head. • Constantly move about on the feet. • Climb ladders of all types. • Complete full day assignments. • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use. • Possess good vision, normal or corrected. • Possess good hearing, normal or corrected. • Must be able to positively identify different colors. WORKING CONDITIONS: May work inside or outside while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times; possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
