We provide a firm educational foundation while encouraging diversity and cultural appreciation. We provide smaller more manageable teacher-to-student ratios and a highly qualified faculty and staff. We also offer outreach support programs to maximize collaboration between parents, students, and faculty and we pride ourselves on providing a challenging academic curriculum that focuses on early childhood literacy and STEAM programming. Teacher- Pre-Kindergarten Position Details Classification: Certified Terms of Employment: This is a salaried position assigned to a 9-month schedule Position Summary: The teacher will implement into daily student instruction appropriate educational curriculum based on the Nevada Academic Content Standards. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and the mission and values of Rainbow Dreams Early Learning Academy. This person will report directly to the school site administrator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The list of Essential Duties and Responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be supplemented. • Administers appropriate District curriculum which is aligned with the NV Academic Content Standards. • Ensures the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment. • Creates and maintains a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment. • Develops and implements the components of an effective lesson for instruction. • Analyzes student progress and provides appropriate instruction. • Provides a classroom management/discipline plan ensuring safety at all times. • Ensures assessment regulations and guidelines are followed at all times. • Develops a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions. • Works professionally with administration, staff, parents, and the community. • Integrates technology into the instructional program. • Participates in other job-related duties and activities related to the position, as assigned. • Ability to work with and contribute to an academic team. Position Expectations: • Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in an early learning environment. • Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members. • Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals. • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects. • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives in order to meet the needs of all students. • Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff. • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy. • Maintain and improve professional competence. • Communicate effectively both written and orally. Position Requirements Education and Training An earned Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field. Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Licenses and Certifications Teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education. 0-2 License preferred. When applying for a certificated licensed position, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as listed on the appropriate position vacancy announcement.
