Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented Principal Cloud Engineer for our Paymode X product line. This role is pivotal in the success of our DevOps culture, with a focus on automation and streamlining processes in a very fast-paced ever-changing SaaS based environment.

How you’ll contribute:

• Working closely with the Development, QA, DBA’s, System Administration, Networking, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to ensure the successful development and rollout application and platform.
• Drive the design of large-scale projects, plan the implementation and rollout; coordinating with other team members to fully implement the project together.
• Train and mentor other Cloud Engineers to promote growth of the entire team.
• Defining and executing ongoing application performance, operation, and maintenance
• Problem diagnosis and
• Participating in after-hours-on-call

The Skills that will make you successful:

• 8+ years of previous related experience (systems, application, or DevOps).
• Experience with scripting languages: Such as Bash or Ruby (MUST HAVE)
• Experience with configuration management and CI/CD and related tools like Terraform, Puppet, Jenkins, Capistrano, GitLab or similar (MUST HAVE).
• Management of Kubernetes Infrastructure (MUST HAVE).
• General programming skills for automation.
• Problem triage/solving skills and ability to work independently to solve problems quickly and automate.
• Experience with containerization and management of tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Flux, Argo.
• Experience with application / system monitoring and logging using tools like Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana.
• High level of comfort working with the Linux command.
• Familiarity with Java application technologies like Tomcat, Spring Boot, JBoss.
• Familiarity with SQL.
• Understanding of fundamental security principles for network traffic and third-party.
• Familiarity with web server (Apache) and SSL Certificate management, preferred as is experience/understanding of Service Mesh.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or, equivalent work.
