Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chef and kitchen manager to join our team. The primary role of the Chef is to prepare lunch and dinner for a house of 6 clients that live full time on site. You'll be responsible for shopping for all food and supplies needed and prepping, cooking, partial cleaning, and upkeep of kitchen equipment.
Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Menu planning and customization:
• Developing menus tailored to the client's preferences, dietary needs, and nutritional goals.
• Accommodating various dietary restrictions, such as allergies, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, etc.
• Being creative and willing to experiment with new recipes, flavors, and presentations.
• Adapting menus based on seasonality, client feedback, number of clients ranging between 1 and 6, and available ingredients.
• Meal preparation and cooking:
• Sourcing high-quality ingredients, often locally and organically when possible.
• Preparing and cooking daily meals and snacks, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Ensuring food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner.
• Kitchen management and organization:
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
• Managing inventory of food and supplies and placing orders as needed.
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and dining areas.
• Communication and client relations:
• Communicating effectively with the clients or staff to understand their needs and preferences.
• Providing professional, courteous, and personalized service while respecting the client's privacy.
• Collaborating with other household staff to ensure seamless service.
• Other Potential Responsibilities (depending on the client's needs):
• Training other staff members on food preparation and service.
• Providing nutritional guidance or creating specific meal plans.
Qualifications
● Certificate and/or formal education from a culinary school or equivalent work experience with references.
● Must be 18 years of age.
● Must have a required health screening.
● Must have current Tuberculin Screen or obtain upon 7 days of hire.
● Valid CPR/First Aid Certification.
● Must have criminal record clearance. Clean criminal record preferred. Some misdemeanors can be exempted but risk slowing down your hiring while waiting on background check from the state.
● Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
● Must have a valid driver’s license.

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
