Job Description

Eaton's Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions (CRDS) Division is seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. This is a position is based at our Arden, NC facility.

Position Overview:

Provides Customer Order Engineering (COE) support for the product line. This includes, but is not limited to: engineering electrical/mechanical designs, providing direction to other Engineers/ Designers and collaboration with direct Customers/Field Sales. Position will interface with other Asheville Departments including MFG, Supply Chain, OPEX and Quality.

In this function you will:
  • Develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser's equipment application.
  • Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
  • Advises C.O.D/C.O.E., Manufacturing and Purchasing (as needed) in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser's requirements.
  • Consult with the Quality Department in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.
  • Complete and Manage small/large projects to completion in meeting deadlines with little or no supervision.
  • Perform standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project.
  • Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.
  • Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills. Possesses strong computer skills and proficiency with AutoCad/Inventor and other Engineering/Business software applications.
  • Interface daily with remote Engineering locations including Juarez, MX and Pune, IN in the processing of customer orders. Acts as "Lead" for all COE orders in Arden location.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET with minimum 3 years of experience
  • BS degree in a technical discipline with minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Relocation Assistance will be provided for candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the location listed in the job description


Preferred qualifications:
  • Fundamentals of Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering
  • Established design standards
  • Computer literacy
  • Power distribution and control systems
