As a Product Manager you will perform a range of activities to effectively market assigned products/services, such as leading all aspects of product development and design; setting prices; launching new products; overseeing advertising campaigns; and monitoring sales performance. Monitor, analyze, and evaluate market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify market opportunities for the products/services. Monitor, analyze, and evaluate product performance and customer feedback to generate new product ideas, identify product/service features that need to be changed to meet customer needs, and liaise with other areas of the organization (for example production, research, and development to implement these changes). Prepare sales forecasts and budgets; monitor sales volume, revenues, and costs against forecasts; and adapt plans to improve the sales performance of the products/services.

As our Area Product Manager Americas, you will define Hempel’s product strategy and roadmap for your area. You will follow up on actions taken to ensure our R&D pipeline is prioritized according to our product strategy and aligned with Hempel’s Double Impact Strategy.

You will be a key collaborator, working across commercial, R&D and segment teams. You will be commercially astute, evaluating ideas for new products & product improvements, while continuously ensuring profitability and rationalizing underperforming segment products.

What does it take to join the Hempel team?

We need a decisive leader who can collaborate at all levels. We expect you to be a project management expert, with a keen eye for detail. We are looking for a skilled product manager, able to prioritize and with a strong commercial focus.

Ideally you will have the following qualifications:

  • Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably within engineering or chemistry, or a business degree with a very strong technical flair
  • Experience in the chemical industry
  • Excellent project management skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Coatings or horizontal concrete Industry background
  • Solid understanding of MS Office
  • Based in Dallas, Texas (required)
  • This role does not involve digital product management.
