QA Functional Engineer

Job Description

About you:

We are looking for a QA Functional Engineer with a strong background in web application testing and some exposure to test automation. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality and functionality of our applications by designing, executing, and optimizing test cases.

You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:

• 3+ years of experience as a QA Functional Engineer.
• Hands-on experience in web application testing.
• Familiarity with TestComplete or a willingness to learn quickly.
• Basic experience with test automation tools and frameworks (for regression testing).
• Experience with API testing (e.g Postman).
• Strong bug reporting and documentation skills.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps).
• Exposure to mobile testing tools (e.g., device farms, emulators, simulators, physical devices for iOS & Android).
• Working knowledge of performance testing (nice to have).
• Experience with Salesforce (nice to have).
• Fluent English is required, as you will be working directly with US-based clients.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and executing test cases to validate business and technical requirements.
• Developing and reviewing test policies and strategies to enhance quality assurance processes.
• Planning test activities based on objectives, risks, and project scope.
• Collaborating with project managers, developers, and agile teams to coordinate testing efforts.
• Leading the analysis, design, implementation, and execution of test cases.
• Monitoring test progress, results, and evaluating exit criteria (definition of done).
• Preparing and delivering test progress reports and summaries.
• Introducing and tracking metrics to measure test progress and software quality.
• Identifying, documenting, and prioritizing bugs and defects.
• Supporting the selection and implementation of test tools to improve efficiency.
• Advocating for best testing practices within the organization.
