School Nurse - Full-Time School-Based Opportunity Location:Drexel Hill Middle School | Upper Darby School District | Delaware County, PA Schedule:Monday - Friday | School Hours | Follows School Calendar Setting:Public Middle School (Grades 6-8) Employment Type:W-2 Compensation:Competitive hourly rate, based on experience Position Summary: The Columbus Organization is seeking a compassionate and licensedSchool Nurseto provide essential health services to students atDrexel Hill Middle Schoolin theUpper Darby School District. In this full-time, school-based role, the nurse will be responsible for promoting student health, managing chronic conditions, addressing injuries and illnesses, and contributing to a safe and supportive learning environment. Collaboration with families, school staff, and healthcare providers is a critical component of the role. Key Responsibilities: • Assess and monitor student health needs; administer medications and treatments as prescribed • Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and acute illnesses; refer students for additional care when necessary • Maintain confidential student health records in compliance with school and health regulations • Conduct health screenings and ensure immunization compliance per district and state guidelines • Manage chronic and complex health conditions through individualized healthcare plans and case coordination • Identify and address health and safety risks within the school environment • Educate students, families, and staff on health issues, hygiene, disease prevention, and chronic condition management • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and healthcare providers to support student health plans • Implement infection control and public health guidelines within the school setting • Engage in ongoing professional development and adhere to nursing best practices and regulatory standards • Document all health services and maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies • Perform additional health-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program • ActiveRegistered Nurse (RN)license in the state of Pennsylvania • Proficient in school health protocols, public health regulations, and electronic health records • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with students, families, and staff • Experience in school nursing or pediatric care is preferred Supervised Employees: May supervise Health Aides, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), or other support personnel per district policy Why Join The Columbus Organization?
