RISE Academy 2025-26 Full-time Janitorial Position

We are looking to hire for a janitorial position at RISE Academy in San Jose, California. This is a full-time position reporting to the Facilities Director. Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm Occasional Weekends Required Job Expectations: • Shared Vision:Supports the vision of maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for all staff, students, and visitors. • Culture of Excellence:Upholds high standards of cleanliness, safety, and facility maintenance in alignment with the mission of RISE Academy. • Operational Support:Ensures that the school operates efficiently by promptly addressing facility needs and maintaining cleanliness and functionality throughout the campus. • Professional Growth:Actively seeks opportunities to learn new techniques, tools, and methods to enhance facility management skills. • Team Collaboration:Works closely with staff, faculty, and administration to address immediate and long-term facility needs. Responsibilities Include: • Performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all areas of the school. • Ensuring the proper maintenance of school grounds, including landscaping, trash removal, and minor repairs. • Monitoring and maintaining facility equipment and supplies; reporting any repairs or replacements needed. • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring timely completion of tasks. • Assisting with the setup and takedown of furniture and equipment for events, assemblies, and other school activities. • Conducting safety inspections of the campus to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. • Managing inventory of janitorial supplies and submitting restocking requests as needed. • Supporting the Facilities Director with additional projects or duties as assigned. Required Skills/Qualities: • Proven experience in janitorial or maintenance work. • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and general repair skills. • Ability to operate and maintain cleaning and maintenance equipment. • Good organizational and time-management skills. • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs). • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and administration. • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Preferred Skills/Qualities (not required): • Prior commercial cleaning/janitorial experience. • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations. • Certification in facility maintenance or related fields is a plus.
