RN Clinical Document Improvement Specialist

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Working knowledge of encoding system and Excel.
• Previous Coding experience.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• Valid NYS RN licensure or eligible.

Work Environment

• Most work is performed in an inpatient unit setting, which may require long periods of standing and are in close quarters with physicians, nursing, allied health professionals and patients. Frequent interruptions often take place in responding to customer needs. Off unit time is performed in office setting in close quarters with other office personnel. The units are air conditioned as well as heated.
