SAN Storage Services Specialist

Introduction
As part of the IT Center Open System Run Team you will be working on different – mainly internal – projects for IBM in Germany and IBM world-wide. The IT Center Open System Run Team operates several SAN Storage systems. Depending on your assigned projects you might be working closely with our Networking team Linux team Windows team and with the z/OS Enterprise Systems team.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Our main project is called ECuRep (Enhanced Customer Data Repository) a support data repository with debugging systems for the IBMs global support organization. Besides normal system administration tasks you will be responsible for one or more technical key aspect of the team tasks. This includes leading a sub-projects preparing release or version changes but also acquiring new competencies within the team.
You should have UNIX background and great administration skills. You should be a strong team player but also should work independent from the team to drive service projects at customer locations.

You should have an in-depth knowledge of SAN Storage solutions. In addition you should have good UNIX background. Your role requires hands-on experience with the following systems & tools:
– SAN Volume Controller SVC FlashSystem 900
– FlashSystem V9000
– IBM/Broadcom SAN Directors
– SAN/Storage Maintenance Troubleshooting & Administration Tools

Non Technical Skills & Requirements:
– flexible Teamplayer
– English: Fluent
