What Makes This Position Special?The weekend security guard is responsible for following security protocols to ensure resident and employee safety including surveying the community for illegal activities, suspicious behavior or dangerous situations and responding to residents or staff in need of assistance. What You’ll Do: • Responds to resident requests for security or emergency maintenance/housekeeping assistance. May assist direct care staff with resident emergencies. • Performs inspections of the community on foot as directed to detect and respond to any unusual, unsafe, or abnormal conditions and responds as appropriate. • Ensures appropriate emergency personnel and staff are contacted and necessary measures are taken in the event of an emergency including assisting with the evacuation process and/or escorting residents, family members, visitors, or staff to designated areas. • Monitors compliance with parking and traffic regulations on campus. Utilizes security camera system to monitor activities inside and outside the building. • Documents occurrences during assigned shift and communicates to supervisor, other security personnel, and other personnel as necessary regarding said occurrences. • Answers phones, greets and directs visitors, and accepts deliveries if covering reception desk during assigned shift. The Skills You’ll Need: • High school graduate or equivalent. • 6 months experience in security or equivalent combination of education & experience. • Experience in healthcare or long-term care setting preferred. • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to be able to interact with all levels of people. • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
