Security Officer - Per Diem/On Call

Job Overview: Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a per diem Security Officer.Responsibilities: The Security Officer provides security and safety services for the hospital to ensure the protection of the patient, parents, visitors, public and staff as well as the hospital property. • Patrols buildings and grounds; and inspects doors, windows and locks to determine level of security according to schedule. • Secures all doors at specified hours and unlocks doors at prescribed hours. • Responds quickly and effectively to emergent and non-emergent situations. • Ensures that all visitors register properly and are issued visitor passes in accordance with regulation • Displays courtesy and a pleasant demeanor towards all visitors and directs them to their destination. • Assists in lost and found, key control and other department services. • Directs traffic and patrols parking areas and accurately issues warnings. • Other duties as assigned.Qualifications: • High School Diploma/GED preferred • Three years security or law enforcement experience preferred Shriners Children’s is an EOE/Drug-Free, Smoke-Free Workplace.
