Senior 3D Character Artist (Unannounced Midcore title)

Position Overview

Zynga is searching for a world-class Senior 3D Character Artist to join a dynamic, growing team! As a Senior 3D Artist, you will be expected to create high-quality 3D assets quickly and effectively. You’ll have a strong understanding of artistic fundamentals, both 2D and 3D, and have a passion for character-focused art.

Main Responsibilities 

• Create high quality 3D character art quickly and effectively.
• Interpret specs and direction both from design and the Art Director.
• Identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement within the creative process.
• Accurately cost art requests.
• Take an active role in maintaining and refining the Art Director’s vision.
• Research, explore, and communicate best practices in art.
• Contribute to formal and informal critique, and provide effective feedback to other artists.
• Effectively communicate progress to the team in North America. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

• 5+ years of professional video games experience
• Strong understanding of 3D character pipeline:
• High-poly modeling in zbrush
• Low-poly modeling in Maya (mobile ready)
• UV unwrapping
• Texture baking in Substance Painter or Marmoset
• Substance Painter for texture creation
• Modeling for proper deformations
• Optimizing for mobile
• Strong Art Fundamentals and an excellent eye for – Character design, color theory, lighting, shape, and form
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent grammatical skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with English speaking team mates
• Battle Royale, Moba, or Shooter experience is a plus
