Senior Accountant

The Role

As a key stakeholder in a dynamic, highly experienced internal accounting team you'll manage a broad range of accounting processes and support a fast-growing business that's developing a diverse portfolio of distributed energy projects.

You will report to our Controller and work a hybrid schedule from either our Head Office in Ridgewood, NJ or our new office in NYC.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Perform daily accounting functions: perform monthly bank reconciliation, monthly closing procedures: amortization, fixed asset, and accrual schedules, etc.
• Regularly collaborate with the front office and other departments across the business to provide reporting and tax guidance, while ensuring appropriate financial accounting
• Participate in the internal/external audit process with a specific focus on collecting key financial, accounting, and inventory control data
• Support management in completing special projects and other ad hoc tasks
• Identify opportunities for process improvements or automation

The Ideal Candidate

• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and standards
• Strong understanding or interest in federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Audit experience would be preferred
• FP&A experience would be desirable
• Superior data analysis skills using Excel to an advanced level
• Experience in working with accounting software and databases, NetSuite would be preferred
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Ability and motivation to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, PE-backed business
• Possess a high degree of accountability, excels at taking ownership and responsibility for your workload
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
