Description
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will help deliver initiative level insights that clearly articulate the details of improvement activities and drive enhanced strategies. The candidate will work closely with the Stars Operations team to support initiative design, identify target populations, initiative outcome analyses, and other data support. This work will require the candidate to immerse in end-to-end processes and carry a firm understanding of the bigger picture of how initiatives impact Humana's Star ratings. This role works closely with key partners throughout the enterprise, especially (but not limited to) Stars Analytics, QSI, and Stars technology on analytics needs/prioritization, reporting, and IT related projects. This role will require someone that is comfortable working with large/complex data sets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of data analysis experience OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of data analysis experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
- Advanced in SQL, SAS, and other data systems
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
- Self-starter - comfortable working independently to accomplish components of a larger program
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective facilitator - direct collaborative efforts amongst internal and external partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Medicare Stars experience - HEDIS, CAHPS/HOS
- Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik for creating data visualizations
- Experience working with Claims data
- Experience working with Humana Clinical Operations
Additional Information
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field. Every associate and contractor who work inside a Humana facility or in the field, regardless of vaccination status, must complete a daily health screening questionnaire.
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
