Role Summary

As a key member of our Personalisation team, you will be at the forefront of optimising our content discovery experience. Your work will directly impact how users find and engage with content, making every article, video, match, and story as compelling and relevant as possible. By leveraging data, machine learning, and your expertise in search and recommendation systems, you'll help us connect every football fan with content that excites and inspires them. In this role, you can expect to work in a Continuous Delivery team, with a bias to action and learning through a quick feedback loop and continuous experimentation mindset.

Your Profile

• Creative and Innovative thinking, and a desire to challenge the status quo.
• Design, develop, and maintain advanced recommendation algorithms (such as collaborative filtering, content-based filtering and hybrid methods) that enhance user experience through personalised content delivery.
• Implement robust search functionalities that enable users to efficiently find content that matches their interests.
• Collaborate with the product and data teams to identify user behaviour patterns and adapt content recommendations accordingly.
• Optimise system performance to handle high volumes of data with minimal latency, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and search technologies to continually refine our systems.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience (between backend and data/ML working experience)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal
• Strong Relational Database skills and a strong demonstrable understanding of Search technologies e.g. Elastic Search, SOLR, Algolia.
• Demonstrable experience in writing behaviour based Algorithms to score content per language/locality and fan loyalty bases.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Experience in Search, Recommendations, and Personalisation
