Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

As a licensed financial company with principal membership with card schemes, we specialize in global payments and providing businesses with multi-currency accounts.We are currently undergoing significant expansion and are looking for Senior Database Administrator to join our Technology team. This role can be in one of our offices in Frankfurt, Limassol, Amsterdam, Vilnius or London, it can also be remote anywhere in Europe.
This role is about:
A highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrating both on-premise and cloud clusters of MongoDB and MariaDB, with at least 3 years of production experience with Galera cluster.

You will:

• Design, implement, and maintain our database systems for optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage and monitor on-premise and cloud-based database clusters, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Provide expert guidance on database design and architecture to support our growing infrastructure needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and schema design for new features and services.
• Plan and execute database migrations with minimal downtime, ensuring data integrity and system compatibility.
• Administer databases on Debian Linux platforms and utilize Bash scripting for automation and routine tasks.
• Keep abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, and be willing to implement them to enhance our database systems.

What we need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of production experience with Galera cluster.
• Proven experience in administrating MongoDB and MariaDB clusters, both on-premise and in the cloud.
• Demonstrated experience with successful database migrations.
• Proficiency in Debian Linux and Bash scripting.
• Strong understanding of database principles, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
