Senior DevOps Engineer

Profile Overview

The Seobility development team is cross-functional and follows the principle of “You build it, you run it”. It is fully responsible for running and extending the seobility.net platform. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for running the infrastructure in the cloud and the software deployment process, but also take care of monitoring and automation.

Your responsibilities

• Taking care of our 350+ Debian application and database servers (MySQL, Redis) in a cloud environment
• Extend and maintain the platform with IaC (Ansible)
• Cooperating with dev team to ensure the high level of availability, stability and security for our application
• Taking ownership of our Gitlab based release pipeline, eventually migrating it to Github
• Maintain and extend our monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, Opensearch)
• Automating various aspects in the infrastructure: provisioning, deployments, etc
• Consult the team in topics like infrastructure, version control, deployments, scaling, high availability, backups, cloud and security

What you bring to the table

• You have 5+ years of experience as DevOps / Platform Engineer or SRE 
• You have a proven track record in running 100+ Linux servers in a production environment
• You are comfortable with a couple of cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Hetzner)
• You are proficient with Git, Gitlab and Github, and you know how to build and automate deployments in a CI/CD environment
• You have experience with IaC tools (preferably Ansible)
• You know how to monitor servers and applications, consolidate the collected information into KPI’s and deliver these to the team
• You have experience in collecting server and application logs in a central place, and know how to provide a self-service environment for log analysis
• You have a good practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; 
• You have experience in Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) databases (MongoDB) - prior DBA experience would be a great plus
• You have the ability to code in any modern scripting language (Python, PHP, etc)
• You have knowledge about security best practices 
• High initiative and self-management skills, outstanding communication and teamwork skills
