Senior Devops Engineer

We’re growing our offerings, building on the launch of our successful streaming platform ViX.

The Devops Engineering team is responsible for building and scaling infrastructure that supports consumer applications across multiple segments and delivering first in class video streaming experiences across the world. Our tech stack runs on the Google cloud and makes use of platforms and services such as Cloud Run, GKE, pubsub, serverless cloud functions, Redis, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Big Query and Big Table. Our backend is built in node.js and our front-end stack utilizes well known frameworks such as Next.js and typescript.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

• Work with software engineers to interpret requirements and design scalable architecture

• Make strategic decisions on infrastructure and technology choices to ensure high availability and resilience for all OTT video streaming infrastructure

• Build and maintain CICD pipelines that encourage best practices for software delivery

• Support uptime of production systems and have availability for emergency rotations

• Performance and Optimization focused problem solving skills at scale (make things go fast!)

• Monitor system health and identify security vulnerabilities in a complex microservices driven architecture

YOU HAVE:

• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience and technical excellence in engineering

• Fluency in English is required

• Experience scaling and supporting large consumer applications

• Scripting and automation skills (Bash or Python).

• Experience with Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies (EKS / AKS / GKE)

• Development and maintenance of CI / CD pipelines (Github Actions)

• Proven experience making decisions on infrastructure technologies and comfortable taking ownership of those decisions.

• Reliability engineering experience for cloud solutions

• Infrastructure as code (Pulumi or Terraform).

• CDN / cache configuration (Familiarity with major platforms Akamai, Fastly etc)

• Design & integration of APIs

• Familiarity managing relational databases as well as NoSQL solutions

• Fundamental networking knowledge including TCP/IP, network layers, DNS, VPC configuration.

• Software development experience / knowledge of engineering design patterns

• Understanding of security best practices and common OWASP Top 10 risks and mitigation techniques
