Senior Event Specialist

We arelooking for a Senior Event Specialist to join our friendly team.
This role is responsible for planning, executing, and managing virtual events and engagement initiatives that cater to the unique needs and interests of the data science community. The ideal candidate is passionate about community building, has a strong understanding of the tech community landscape, and excels at creating engaging online experiences. The candidate will be able to handle the minute logistical requirements of conferences and virtual livestreams, as well as plan the overarching scope of the events and their coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a diverse calendar of virtual events, including webinars, workshops, hackathons, panel discussions, and networking opportunities
• Manage all aspects of event logistics, including speaker coordination, platform management, registration, and post-event follow-up
• Coordinate vendor requirements and contracts
• Leverage data and analytics to measure event success and identify areas for improvement
• Build a strong online community through forums, social media, and other digital channels; facilitate discussions, provide support, and engage with key influencers
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to source and curate relevant content

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferably in event management, marketing or communications, ideally in a tech environment
• Proven experience in virtual event planning and community management. Ability to develop innovative and engaging virtual experiences
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and foster collaboration
• Proficiency in virtual event platforms
• Experience with social media and community management tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to use analytics to measure and improve engagement
• Ability to work independently and proactively
