Senior Information Engineer

Job Description

Arctic Slope Mission Services, LLC seeks a Senior Information Engineer in Beltsville, MD 20705.

Duties: Break down features into user stories for the development team. Coordinate with Scrum Master, development team, product manager liaison, government product manager, and government product owner. Coordinate with architecture team to vet architectural requests. Ensure receipt of stories from application architects regarding adherence to non-functional requirements for their applications. Build, edit, and maintain team backlog. Break down solution themes and epics into understandable stories, defects, and enablers. Prioritize backlog items based on user value, time, and other team dependencies. Provide story detail and priorities during iteration planning and accept responsibility for final iteration plans. Provide just-in-time story elaboration, apply behavior-driven development, and provide acceptance criteria that assures quality and user expectations. Understand enabler work and assist with sequencing. Coordinate with release train engineer regarding capacity allocation. Participate in team demo and retrospectives. Orchestrate the system demo for value stream stakeholders. Telecommuting permitted within the U.S.

Requirements

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent) plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or related role. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent) plus 3 years of experience, employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent) plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or related role.

The position requires 1 year of experience with the following:

• Technical writing skills;
• Writing and splitting features and stories; and
• Presentation of requirement findings and mockups for review with sponsors and end users.
