Senior Lead Software Engineer (IBM)

We are looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join our Patent Renewals System team. This is a great opportunity to support ongoing development of specialist application, IBM based product. If you have previous experience developing IBM products, we'd be happy to hear from you!

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Minimum 7 years of experience in software development- solution design, technical design, code change, unit testing and release management.
• 7+ years of experience with IBM applications
• 7+ years of experience with programming using SYNON/2E (CA 2E), RPG, RPG ILE, COBOL.
• 5+ years of experience programming using SQL.

It would be great if you also have... 

• Experience with automated testing practices.
• Knowledge of IBM I security features and best practices.
• Knowledge of DB2 for I and SQL database management
• Experience in analytics and data driven reports
• Understanding of tools and techniques for modernizing legacy IBM I applications.
• Experience with implementing and testing integrations between multiple systems.
• Agile development methodologies working experience.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Responsible for developing change and queries on our core Patent renewals platform.
• Maintaining and developing interfaces with other internal and external applications
• Working with a team to refresh and update our patent renewal technologies to maintain our position as the global leader in renewals.
• Working with 3rd party suppliers to support change.
• Providing support and advice on technical and functional aspects of renewals.
• Adhere to Agile development practices
• Ensure IT Security and risk procedures are adhered to.

IPG applications are designed to securely manage and support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across the entire IP lifecycle.

Patent Renewal Systems (PRS) is a comprehensive solution designed to streamline and automate the process of managing patent renewals. This product is tailored to meet the needs of patent holders, law firms, and intellectual property (IP) professionals, ensuring that patents remain active and protected throughout their lifecycle.

About the Team
The team consists of 4 software engineers and is reporting to Senior Manager, Delivery Management.
You will collaborate with the QA Engineers, Architects, Product Owners and DevOps teams as well as internal stakeholders on the business side. These teams work collaboratively to develop and maintain the PRS, ensuring it meets the high standards required for managing patent renewals globally.

Hours of Work 
The expected core hours of engagement will be an 8-hour day starting at CEST 9:00 AM and ending at CEST 5:00 PM. This is a full-time position.
