We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department in Jakarta, Indonesia.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll be responsible for providing legal support to the Signify commercial organization in Indonesia and certain other countries in Southeast Asia. The role consists of providing corporate and commercial advice, advising and supporting contract negotiations in all aspects, and handling claims.

What you’ll do

• Supporting business leaders and managers in daily decision making bringing valuable legal input and experience-based expertise;

• Involving the legal expertise of other legal experts either internally from Group Legal or external.

• Acting as the legal advisor on wide range of contracting matters and in different corporate and commercial matters, notably on systems, solutions and services businesses (projects), also having financial aspects;

• Advising and supporting on public procurement matters, governmental contracts and business partnerships;

• Being a Compliance Officer, driving Signify’s Integrity code and Compliance in the market;

• Advising on claims handling and litigation matters;

• Managing the relationship with external law firms;

• Ensuring legal corporate and business governance in place (providing assistance in relation to shareholder and Board of Directors meetings);

• Addressing privacy matters together with the global privacy team;

• Providing advice and trainings in matters related to anti-bribery/anti-corruption, antitrust and competition law, privacy law, and export controls;

More about you

• Broad legal experience in various fields like contracting, commercial, factory operations, projects, corporate, competition and compliance in multinational businesses and (8+ years) professional experience

• Practical, solution oriented while addressing legal requirements, exposure, and compliance

• Good social and communication skills, fluent in English, Bahasa required.

• Experience in contract management, contract drafting and competition law; experience in public procurement law will be a benefit

• Experience in providing legal support to international companies as in-house counsel or external legal advisor

• Able to explain and convince stakeholders, both internally as well as externally

• Strong compliance experience

• Able to bridge between business needs, corporate policies and applicable local laws;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills on different organizational levels
