Senior Mainframe Modernisation Architect

Introduction
As an IBM Application Architect you directly help clients transform their business  and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms.  You are a technical leader serving as a liaison among business partners technical resources and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Mainframe Modernisation Architect your role will be critical in guiding clients through their digital transformation journey and addressing complex challenges. You will define the direction and scope for projects that deliver custom solutions leveraging your comprehensive knowledge of mainframe modernisation techniques.

Your responsibilities will include:

• • Identifying the right strategies for the modernisation of mainframe applications based on specified requirements
  • Facilitating the migration of complex multi-tier mainframe applications to modern architectures adheringto top security practices
  • Reviewing application requirements and providing architectural advice for implementation deployment and provisioning applications on modern architectures
  • Designing and maintaining DevSecOps within modernised mainframe structures
  • Serving as the organization’s primary point of contact for mainframe modernisation solutioning and delivery
  • Providing best practice guidance on the architectural design across multiple applications and projects within the enterprise
  • Promoting the development of mainframe modernisation skills within the team
  • Leading both local and remote teams of architects and developers in the solution delivery and governance

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Over 15 years of experience in IT services across various sectors
• At least 8 years of experience acting as an Architect in major public cloud Digital transformation platform/products/services
• 5 or more years of hands-on experience designing and deploying modernised mainframe architecture

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g. Kubernetes Docker)
• Preferred certification in Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF or equivalent
